On Thursday evening, Origo was thrilled to join the Central Ohio creative community at COSI to participate in the 2018 American Advertising Awards (The ADDYs). The event was hosted by the Columbus American Advertising Federation (AAF), one of the most influential and distinguished organizations in the Central Ohio creative community, and brought together hundreds of creative professionals to celebrate the best creative advertising work of the year.

And The ADDY Goes To…
This year Origo was proud to be the recipient of 4 ADDY awards, recognizing some of our most of creative and inspiring work of the year.
The Art of Tommaso Ciaffoncini
We received the SILVER ADDY Award in the “Ambient Media” category for the Art Direction of the website design, The Art of Tommaso Ciaffoncini. This work was inspired by Origo’s Creative Director and President, Tommaso Ciaffoncini, who has always had a deep passion for the arts and a desire to express his creativity in new ways, specifically through painting, sculpture, and pure expression. To promote his artistic work among the creative community, Origo recently developed a sleek and modern website to showcase his wide variety of artwork and share his artistic story. Origo’s Pride Festival Display
We received a SILVER ADDY Award in the “Advertising Industry Self-Promotion Out-of-Home & Ambient Media” category for Origo’s Pride Festival display, which was featured on the front windows of our building during the 2017 Columbus Pride Parade. The vibrant window display was inspired by our partnership with organizations such as Stonewall Columbus and Equitas Health Institute for LGBTQ Health Equity, and featured illustrative designs featuring vibrant characters and colors to promote themes of love and equality.
Origo’s Mad Monster Halloween Promotion
We received a SILVER ADDY Award in the “Advertising Industry Self-Promotion (Cross Platform)” category, recognizing Origo’s “Mad Monsters” Halloween promotion. The Mad Men-themed promotion was designed to generate excitement around Origo’s annual Halloween party through an integrated promotional campaign, which included the following:
- Frightening versions of our favorite 60s ads, featuring “Bloodweiser,” (Budweiser), “Robot Stewardess,” and many other thrilling headlines.
- A branded motion graphics video, using the hit show, “Mad Men” as inspiration for the design and music of the video.
- As a gift, each guest received a branded “Mad Monsters” t-shirt, as well as a series of cards featuring “Mad Monsters”-themed creatures and ads from the 60s.

“Share The Light” New Year’s Promotion
In the “Advertising Industry Self-Promotion (Cross Platform)” category, we also won a GOLD ADDY Award, recognizing Origo’s “Share The Light” New Year’s promotion. Inspired by our clients who are committed to serving the greater good and making the world a better place, Origo’s 2017 holiday promotion, “Share the Light,” focused on the spirit of kindness and how we each have the power to profoundly influence someone else with a single act. As part of this promotion, we developed the following:
- A branded package, including a custom-blended candle and holiday card, featuring characters working together to make a difference through art, education, healthcare, and community initiatives – paying homage to the inspiring work our clients do.
- A motion graphics video, encouraging viewers to burn a little brighter in the new year and spread joy each day.
