Origo Develops Engaging Website For SWACO To Help Ohioans “Recycle Right”

Origo Branding recently had the opportunity to partner with SWACO, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, to develop an interactive and engaging new website for their educational campaign, Recycle Right. The new site’s main goal is to educate consumers about recycling, its impact on the environment they live in, and to help them find a recycling center near them, while positioning the initiative as the leading resource in the subject matter.

Our team kicked-off  the project by conducting working meetings and surveys with the leadership team of SWACO to gain an understanding of the team’s goals for the upcoming website. This process helped generate an intuitive site architecture and navigation strategy for the user experience.

Utilizing the research and insights we received, a new responsive website was designed and developed in the user-friendly Content Management System of WordPress, enabling the staff to easily edit, update, and manage the information presented throughout the site, as well as allow users to have an optimal online experience on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

Almost every page on the site was built with new and intuitive features, including a quiz that gauges the users’ knowledge around this issue, while providing recycling resources in a fun, interactive, and dynamic way with animated icons and illustrations. Another key feature for the site was a Recycle & Reuse Search Tool, helping users find out how to recycle different items and where they could go to drop them off around Central Ohio.
